CapMetro bus workers return to talks after strike vote
Unionized drivers and mechanics authorized a strike after months of talks with Keolis. Negotiations are set to continue Tuesday, with bus training and vehicle availability among the concerns.

CapMetro's main bus workforce could strike if talks with contractor Keolis fail, after union members voted 99.5% in late June to authorize a walkout. The workers are represented by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1091, which covers about 1,400 drivers and mechanics.
A strike would stop nearly all regular public bus service in Austin, where riders board CapMetro buses more than 60,000 times on an average day. CapMetro Access, Pickup and the Red Line would not be affected because they are operated by other contractors.
