Nobelity Project marks 25 years with State Theatre films
Turk and Christy Pipkin are winding down the Nobelity Project after 25 years of education work tied to Texas, Latin America and Kenya. A July 2 State Theatre screening will pair Nobelity with One Peace at a Time as the nonprofit raises money for its final education effort.

The Nobelity Project grew from Turk Pipkin's first documentary, Nobelity, which used interviews with Nobel laureates to look at global problems and possible solutions. The nonprofit later supported education projects in Texas, Latin America and Kenya, including work on all or part of 65 rural schools in Kenya.
The Pipkins now plan to shift the organization's remaining work into three education endowments: environmental justice at Huston Tillotson University, global studies at the University of Texas and scholarships at a university in Kenya. Nobelity and One Peace at a Time will screen as a double feature at the State Theatre on July 2.
